PubMeth: welcome
reviewed methylation database in cancer

Pubmeth is an annotated and reviewed database of methylation in cancer.
It is based on automated textmining of literature and is afterwards manually curated and annotated.

To immediately start searching or browsing in PubMeth, choose Search PubMeth.

Not sure how it works and what the results mean?

PubMeth contains more than 5000 records, build from over 1000 literature sources.
In our own research and services to others, a common question was "is this gene already described in literature as methylated and in which cancer types".
Answering this kind of questions is time-consuming, and was partially solved by implementing a Text-mining approach (GoldMine).
As still a lot of reviewing work needed to be done after automated searches, we decided to build a database with annotated information.
PubMeth was created in April 2007 and is expanding since then, as epigenetic literature.

PubMeth was created at BioBix, lab. for Bioinformatics and computational genomics
